In-home tuition · Upperhill
A trainer at your door, in Upperhill.
For Upperhill residents and working professionals who want serious music tuition fitted around their schedule — a single vetted trainer arrives weekly, weekday evenings or weekends, with the same curriculum we teach at our Kikuyu studio.
The neighbourhood
Why we know Upperhill.
Mixed residential and business district. Many of our Upperhill students are working professionals — finance, law, NGOs — taking weekly piano, guitar or voice lessons as a counterweight to demanding workdays.
Our trainers reach Upperhill via Mbagathi Way or the Upperhill expressway — typically a 35–45-minute journey from Kikuyu outside peak hours. Evening and weekend slots are the norm given the working-adult audience.
Slots that work
When trainers visit Upperhill.
Slot suggestions tuned to the route and rhythm of this suburb. We adjust to your schedule — these are the common patterns that work, not constraints.
01
Weekday evenings (18:00 – 20:00).
The most common slot for working-adult students — trainer arrives after the commute home, lesson runs before dinner.
02
Saturday mornings (09:00 – 13:00).
Weekend favourites for both adults and children. Often combined with sibling sessions back-to-back.
03
Sunday afternoons (14:00 – 18:00).
Quieter slots, suited to longer 1.5-hour sessions for serious learners working toward exams.
Before you book
Frequently asked.
01I work full-time — how do lessons fit?+
Most Upperhill students take 18:00–20:00 evening slots or Saturday mornings. We are flexible — your trainer's schedule is built around the time that works for you, not the other way around. Lessons can also pause for a week if work travel collides; we offer make-up sessions where possible.
02I live in an apartment building — will the lessons disturb neighbours?+
Digital piano, keyboard and classical guitar are apartment-friendly. Acoustic piano needs voicing down (we will advise). Voice lessons at conversational volume are rarely a concern. Drums need a mesh-head electronic kit if you live in an apartment.
03How does building access work?+
We provide your building security with the trainer's name, photo, and vehicle plates before each visit. Trainers carry Concerto photo ID and follow your building's visitor protocols.
04Will my trainer be the same person every week?+
Yes. Trainer continuity is core to our at-home programme — once matched, that trainer is yours weekly. If your trainer is unwell, we offer a make-up session rather than rotate substitutes.
05Can I take longer 1.5-hour sessions instead of 1-hour?+
Yes — many serious adult students prefer 90-minute sessions, especially those working toward ABRSM grades. We will discuss optimum lesson length at the consultation based on your goals and stamina.
06How does pricing compare to your studio?+
In-home tuition carries a premium reflecting trainer travel, evening availability and single-trainer continuity. Specific rates are shared at the consultation.
