In-home tuition · Muthaiga

A trainer at your door, in Muthaiga.

For Muthaiga families who would rather not navigate Nairobi traffic for a child's music lesson — a single, vetted trainer who arrives at your home on the same day every week, with the same standards and curriculum as our Kikuyu studio.

The neighbourhood

Why we know Muthaiga.

Embassy district, low-density residential, generations of musical households. Our trainers know Muthaiga well — many of our long-standing students are in the area.

Our trainers travel from Kikuyu to Muthaiga via the bypass — typically a 35-minute journey outside peak hours. Mid-morning, late-afternoon, and Saturday slots work best to avoid traffic.

Slots that work

When trainers visit Muthaiga.

Slot suggestions tuned to the route and rhythm of this suburb. We adjust to your schedule — these are the common patterns that work, not constraints.

  1. 01

    Weekday mornings (10:00 – 12:00).

Ideal for pre-school children, home-schooled students, and adults working from home. Trainer arrives outside school-run traffic.

  2. 02

    Weekday late afternoons (16:30 – 18:30).

Most common slot for school-age children — after school, before dinner. Book early; these slots fill first.

  3. 03

    Saturday mornings (09:00 – 12:30).

Weekend favourites for families with multiple children — siblings often have back-to-back lessons same morning.

Frequently asked.

01How long has Concerto served Muthaiga?+

Concerto has been teaching in-home in Muthaiga since 2018. Several of our longest-standing students started as primary-school kids and are now preparing for ABRSM Grade 7 and 8.

02Will my child have the same trainer every week?+

Yes. Trainer continuity is non-negotiable for our at-home programme — once you are matched with a trainer, that trainer is yours weekly. If your trainer is unwell, we will offer a make-up session rather than send an unfamiliar substitute.

03Do I need to provide an instrument?+

For piano and keyboard, yes — most Muthaiga homes already have an instrument. We can advise on what to buy or rent. For guitar, violin and voice, smaller setups are usually fine; we will discuss what you need at the consultation.

04What are the security arrangements at our gate?+

Our trainers carry photo ID and we provide your security gate with the trainer's name, photo, and vehicle plates ahead of every visit. Most Muthaiga compounds have visitor protocols our trainers are familiar with.

05Can siblings learn together at home?+

Yes — and our family-bundle discount applies. We typically schedule siblings back-to-back so the trainer makes one trip; some families also do parallel sessions (a parent learning alongside a child) which is enormously rewarding for both.

06How does pricing compare to the Kikuyu studio?+

In-home tuition carries a premium reflecting trainer travel, single-trainer commitment and concierge-style scheduling. We share specific rates at the initial consultation once we understand your goals and frequency.
