For schools · CBC music training

CBC music, taught by specialists.

The CBC creative-arts strand expects every primary school to cover singing, simple instrument competence and music appreciation. Schools without a specialist music teacher can engage a Concerto trainer for a term at a time — full curriculum coverage, termly progress reports aligned to CBC competencies, and an audit-friendly paper trail.

What's included

The engagement, end to end.

01

CBC-aligned curriculum.

Termly plan covering the singing, instrument-play and music-appreciation competencies. Maps cleanly onto CBC assessment grids your school already uses.

02

Hands-on instrument exposure.

Students get real keyboards, recorders and percussion in their hands — not just rhythm-clapping. We bring portable instruments where the school doesn't own them.

03

Termly per-pupil report.

End-of-term written progress against CBC creative-arts competencies. Attachable to each pupil's CBC assessment portfolio.

04

Optional KMF pathway.

CBC students with potential are flagged for KMF prep in a separate engagement — the natural progression for high-performing musical kids.

A typical engagement

Shape of a school project.

  1. 01 · Discovery call

How many classes, what year levels, what music capacity your school already has, what term you want to start.

  2. 02 · Quote + trainer match

Written quote within one working day with proposed trainer, weekly schedule (which day visits which classes), and total termly fee.

  3. 03 · Term begins

Trainer visits weekly. Curriculum runs in 12-week blocks aligning to the school term. We integrate with your music staff's broader strand work.

  4. 04 · Mid-term review

Brief check-in with your headteacher / music coordinator. Pace and pace-of-coverage adjustment if needed.

  5. 05 · Termly report

Per-pupil written report aligned to CBC competencies. Delivered before end-of-term parent meetings.

  6. 06 · Renewal

End-of-term review. Renew, adjust, or close cleanly. Many schools run multi-year engagements.

Frequently asked

For school administrators.

01Are your trainers TSC-registered?+

Most are TSC-registered or eligible. Specific credentials shared at quote stage so you can match your school-board requirements; we can also provide CRB-equivalent background checks on request.

02How does this work alongside our existing music teacher?+

Either as a replacement (when no music staff are in post) or as a specialist add-on — your existing teacher might continue music appreciation while our trainer covers instrument-play. Tell us at the discovery call.

03Do you bring the instruments?+

Where the school doesn't own them, yes — we bring portable keyboards, recorders and basic percussion for the session. We don't leave them on-site; they go back with the trainer.

04What is the per-pupil reporting like?+

A one-page termly report per pupil mapped to the CBC creative-arts competencies: "Can sing a simple song in tune", "Demonstrates basic rhythm awareness", etc. Each is rated Emerging / Approaching / Meeting / Exceeding.

05How is the cost structured?+

Quoted per term. Variables: number of classes, weekly hours, distance from our Kikuyu base. Payment by bank transfer, M-Pesa Paybill (247247) or cheque. Net 30 days standard.

06Can we transition to a permanent hire later?+

Absolutely — many schools use our model as the bridge to recruiting a full-time music teacher. We're happy to help with the handover and even contribute to the interview panel for the permanent hire.
