What's included

The engagement, end to end.

01

Style-matched trainer.

We match the trainer to the dance style your project requires — KMF traditional category, school musical theatre, contemporary cultural-day piece, etc.

02

Choreography development.

For project engagements: original choreography built around your students' abilities and the performance time slot. Written movement notes for your records.

03

Costume + presentation guidance.

Practical advice on costuming, formation, audience-facing performance polish — the things that make a school dance look like a school dance.

04

KMF or cultural day prep.

For KMF dance categories: rubric-aware coaching through mock rounds. For cultural day: a full set built and rehearsed for the assembly window.

A typical engagement

Shape of a school project.

  1. 01 · Discovery call

What's the occasion, how many students, what dance style and what outcome (cultural day / KMF / weekly club).

  2. 02 · Quote + trainer match

Written quote within one working day with the proposed trainer, days/times and total fee.

  3. 03 · First session

Trainer assesses student levels, agrees the choreographic direction with your staff, and locks in the rehearsal cadence.

  4. 04 · Build phase

Choreography developed and taught in stages — students learn formations + transitions + the full piece.

  5. 05 · Polish phase

Final two weeks focus on synchronisation, presentation, costumes, and run-throughs with notes.

  6. 06 · Performance day support

Optional add-on: trainer attends the performance for warm-up + dressing-room coaching.

Frequently asked

For school administrators.

01What dance styles do your trainers cover?+

Most commonly contemporary (modern/lyrical), traditional African (Kalenjin, Luo, Kikuyu, coastal), and ballet basics for foundation work. We don't currently offer hip-hop or ballroom — those are specialist enough that we'd refer you on rather than overclaim.

02How many students can one trainer take in a single session?+

For meaningful choreography work, up to ~20 students works well. Larger groups (cultural-day full-school pieces) run with one lead trainer + 1–2 assistants when budget allows; alternatively we teach a "core team" who then teach the rest.

03How much physical space do we need?+

A hall or covered outdoor space 10m × 10m at minimum. Slippery floors are a problem; we may ask you to add basic non-slip mats for some styles.

04Can the same trainer coach BOTH KMF and the cultural day?+

Yes — common scenario. We extend the same engagement window to cover both performance dates with the same trainer.

05How is the cost structured?+

Quoted per engagement. Variables: weekly hours, total weeks, students count, whether costuming/choreography is original vs adapted. Written quote within one working day.

06Are your dance trainers vetted for working with children?+

Yes — every Concerto trainer is background-checked and briefed on safeguarding before working with under-18s. We can share trainer credentials and prior-school references at the quote stage.
