In-home tuition · Karen

A trainer at your door, in Karen.

For Karen families and adult learners who want serious music tuition without the Langata Road commute. A single vetted trainer arrives weekly with the same ABRSM-aligned curriculum we teach at our Kikuyu studio.

The neighbourhood

Why we know Karen.

Leafy, spacious and family-oriented — Karen homes have the room for acoustic pianos and full setups that apartment suburbs cannot. Many of our Karen students are children on piano, violin or voice, often with siblings learning alongside them.

Our trainers reach Karen via Langata Road and Karen Road — typically 40–55 minutes from Kikuyu outside peak hours. Late-afternoon, after-school and weekend slots are most popular; the multi-child rate makes sibling pairs especially worthwhile here.

Before you book

Frequently asked.

01Do you bring the instrument, or do we need our own?+

For piano and keyboard you will need your own instrument at home — we are happy to advise on what to buy. For guitar, violin and voice, the trainer brings what is needed for early lessons while you decide on a purchase.

02Will my children have the same trainer each week?+

Yes. Trainer continuity is core to our at-home programme — once matched, that trainer is yours weekly. If your trainer is unwell, we offer a make-up session rather than send a substitute.

03Can two siblings learn in the same visit?+

Absolutely — back-to-back sessions in one visit are common in Karen, and the multi-child rate applies from the second child onward. Each child still gets their own focused 45 minutes.

04How does the first lesson work?+

Your first session is a free discovery session — a full 45 minutes for the trainer to assess each learner, recommend an instrument and format, and agree a plan. No enrolment pressure; we follow up in writing.
