25 yrs experience

I'm Rachel Gitau, founder and director of Concerto Music Place. I've spent years teaching both children and adults, and I specialize in piano and keyboard, flute, violin, and vocal training. Alongside teaching, I train church choirs, adjudicate at music competitions and auditions, and perform in concerts and choirs including the Nairobi Music Society — experiences I bring straight back into the lessons I give. My teaching blends solid technical instruction with room to be creative. I meet each student exactly where they are, whether that's a young beginner touching the keys for the first time or an adult finally learning the instrument they always meant to. The aim is never just to play the right notes, but to understand and enjoy the music behind them. What you can expect is a warm, encouraging space and a clear sense of progress. We work through structured levels — Foundation, Intermediate, and Advanced — so you always know how far you've come and what's next. Most of all, I want every student to leave each lesson a little more confident, and with a voice that feels like their own.
