Help & answers

The things parents and students ask us most.

If you can't find your answer below, our team is one WhatsApp away.

Booking

01How do I book, and is the first session really free?+

Tap Book on any page, or call or WhatsApp us. Your first session is a free, in-person discovery session — we assess the student, recommend an instrument and format, and there's no payment and no commitment until you decide to enrol.

02Can I reschedule or cancel a lesson?+

Yes — move or cancel a session up to 24 hours ahead and we reschedule it or refund it in full. Inside 24 hours the session fee stands, which protects the trainer's reserved time.

03What actually happens in the free discovery session?+

A full 45 minutes, in person at our Kikuyu studio (or online if you're far away). We assess the student and place them with the right trainer, class and grade, then send a written recommendation within 48 hours. No enrolment pressure at the end.

Payment

01When and how do I pay?+

You pay per session at the time of booking — no enrolment fees, no registration fees, no term-upfront amounts. We accept M-Pesa, Visa and Mastercard via Paystack, and cash at the studio.

02Are there any hidden fees?+

No. The per-session rate is the full price. Sheet music, recital participation and use of studio instruments are all included. The only separate cost is the ABRSM exam fee itself, if and when you choose to enter.

03Do you offer a sibling discount?+

Yes — when two or more children from one family enrol together, every child after the first gets a discount on the session rate, across all of our lesson formats.

Classes

01Which instruments do you teach?+

Piano and keyboard, guitar, violin and strings, drums, voice, and wind and brass — plus a signature African-instruments programme (marimba, litungu and more), music theory, and ABRSM exam preparation.

02Do lessons happen at the studio, at home, or online?+

All three. In person at our Kikuyu studio (with free parking on-site), at-home across Nairobi and Kiambu, or live one-on-one online from anywhere — the same faculty and ABRSM-aligned curriculum across every format.

03What ages do you teach, and do you follow ABRSM?+

We teach from age three through to adult learners. Our curriculum is ABRSM-aligned, and as an ABRSM Examination Centre we prepare and enter students for graded practical and theory exams.

04Will you put my child in for an ABRSM exam before they are ready?+

Never. ABRSM entry fees climb with every grade, and a near-miss knocks a young player's confidence — so before we recommend entering, we run a full mock exam under real conditions and only give the green light once the student is scoring comfortably above the pass mark. If they're not there yet, we say so honestly and keep preparing them until they are. You always decide whether to enter; our job is to make sure you're deciding from a position of strength.

05Do you offer group classes, or just one-on-one?+

Both. Most students learn one-on-one, but we run group classes, family lessons and holiday camps too — the discovery session helps us recommend whether one-on-one or a group is the better fit for each learner.

Still have questions?

We'll happily walk you through anything — over the phone, WhatsApp or in person at the studio.
